RIGHT TO CREATE

TEAM STATEMENT

“Transforming its identity from an Industrial City to a Cultural Hub would require a change in the DNA of Linz. Culture and creation must become the new way of life and go beyond being the aspiration of an image, as portrayed by a busy cultural city center or a tourist attraction. We propose re-inventing the living environs in the city, the very basic grain of urban dwelling and well being, to overlap with basic ammenities and facilities that promote creation and social participation. The aim is to achieve a city level network of small scale cultural districts seamlessly connected to the city center by public transport.

The goal is to withdraw and not see Linz as an industrial town where factories and residential districts are preferably not mixed. Instead , it is key to realize that to achieve a cultural and creative city it is eminent that every citizen should have the “right to create”
